Stitchdown Farm is looking to hire two positions for the 2023 growing season. Farming and/or floristry experience is strongly preferred. Super bonus for both.

These positions are similar and will touch all aspects of the farm, and thus provide experience in all corners of a diversified farm & floristry. Both positions have option to live on the farm.

Apprentice (1 Position)

  • April 1  - October 31 

  • Salary based on experience

  • 30-40 hours/wk

  • 2 Days off / wk

  • Rita’s right hand person, immersed in all aspects of the farm. Learn it all & do it all.

  • 1 wk PTO

Crew (1 Position)

  • April 1  - October 31 

  • Starting at $15/hr

  • 40 hours/wk

  • 8am - 4pm

  • Monday - Friday

  • 1 wk PTO

Farming Responsibilities Include:

  • Bucket washing

  • Transplanting

  • Morning harvest management

  • Greenhouse management

    • Watering

    • Seedling management

  • Flower Harvesting

  • Vegetable harvesting

  • Weeding

  • Trellising

  • Shit slinging

  • Irrigation rodeo star

  • Flower harvesting

  • Weeding

  • Landscape fabric laying

  • Wheelbarrow operation

  • Flower drying

  • Vegetable processing

  • Weeding

  • Flower harvesting

  • Weeding

  • Arrange weekly bouquets for wholesale retail accounts (coops etc.)

  • Arrange weekly Flower Club bunches

  • Arrange bouquets for the farm stand

  • Clean & Organize floral design studio

  • Assist in cleaning, schlepping and all the unglamourous bits of flowering

POTENTIAL FLORISTING RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Wholesale deliveries, pickups and bucket wedding deliveries

  • Washing buckets

  • Prepping vases

  • Scraping the crud off of one million candlestick holsters

  • Making sicknasty playlists 

  • Processing flowers

  • Internet searches

  • Wedding cleanup on Sundays
